Cuvier's Dwarf Caiman UPDATE || Anger Dino Gets New Digs!
Those of you who have been following us may remember that we rescued a croc who almost died a while back. It’s been touch and go for the better part of 5 months with this little guy, but we are happy to say that it seems “Smaug”, our Cuvier’s Dwarf Caiman rescue is going to be making a full recovery! His scales have almost all grown back, his color is back to normal, his attitude is back to normal (much to our fingers’ dismay), and his appetite is voracious!
To celebrate, we upgraded his enclosure for something more befitting of a croc that doesn’t need his home to be constantly medicated and disinfected ;) It is now complete with a wide variety of aquatic plants (which have a lot of filling in to do)! He spent the entire day checking everything out yesterday, so we couldn’t be happier. As of now, he is small enough to completely fit under that log hide, so this will suit him for another 6-10 months or so (if not more)
